Peskov: Kremlin has no comments on rumored smartphone supply ban

MOSCOW, Dec 22 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin does not comment on a possible ban on supply of smartphones and aircraft components to Russia since the source of such reports is unknown, the president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

“We do not know what official was that or whether he exists or not. There is nothing here to comment on,” Peskov said.

Media reported earlier quoting a source at the U.S. President Joe Biden administration that Washington was considering limitation of exports of smartphones and aircraft components to Russia in case of worsening of the situation in Ukraine. The measures were said to be discussed by high-ranking U.S. officials. The source said the steps would be unprecedented for Moscow.
